Character
Don Pedro is a king of Aragon. People express his admiration for work in a war. He is a Hero and puppeteer. He try to set up Benedick with a Beatrice against Benedick's will. He enlists the help of Claudio and Mr. Leonato.

Don John is Pedoro's little brother. He hates his old brother. He conspires against his brother's friends. He is
betrayer in this story.

Benedick is a knight. He can't love a woman and has a wrong slant on woman. But, He is a very simple man. He is taken in by Pedro's tactics.

Claudio is a young knight. He takes a shine to Hero. He meets some troubles by John and John's satellites.

Mr. Leonato is a governor of Messina. He has a daughter, Hero. He lives and dies by strategies of Knights.

Hero is a beautiful, sweet and demure women. She also loves Claudio. She gets beaten up in this movie.

Beatrice is a intelligent and haughty woman. She is always hostile to Benedick. She is a niece of Mr. Leonato.

Margaret is a lady's maid. She serves the Leonato. She gets beaten up too.

Story
Party of Don Pedro come to Messina from battle area. They are excellent knights, so they won a war. People had a good time in Messina. For example, poetry reading in a field. Then, a man said that Don Pedro will be coming to Messina! People heard it, and they felt so happy. They makes a hasty toilet for greeting to Don Pedro's party. The men were nude bathing, the wemen took in shower. After that, Mr. Leonato of Messina's president met Don Pedro's. People in Messina made Don Pedro's welcome very much. Don Pedro's decided to stop over there.

Main knights are four. First, Don Pedro. He is leader in this party, and endears himself to many people. Second, Don John. He is step little brother of Don Pedro. He hate his old brother so much. Third, Claudio. He is young knight in this party. He falls in love with Hero at first sight. He is pure and tame boy. Finally, Benedick. He liked being single, and hated a woman. Especially, he meets Beatrice, he has a squabble with her. People worried about it.

One day, Masquerade party held in Messina. Don Pedro had a idea for Claudio in love. It was Don Pedro disguises himself in a mask and he tried to express Claudio's innermost thought with the feature. Don John tried to cross it, but it dropped through. So, Claudio and Hero were couple! Hero is daughter of Mr. Leonato.

Meanwhile, Benedick always meets Beatrice, they starts to argue. So, Don Pedro, Claudio and Mr. Leonto, Hero and her mother tries to work in collaboration to bring together. The men said "Beatrice loves Benedick!" They talked loudly to be heard to him. The women said "Benedick loves Beatrice!" They talked loudly to be heard to her. He and she screwed and they attracted to each other.
But, their happy life doesn't last long. Don John has bad idea and tried to plot it. It posed too great risks to many people. Claudio and Hero, Mr. Leonato, Benedick and Beatrice cross purposed about not true things each other.

Can they get happy life again? Come back sweet time to them?

My impression
I watched this movie twice in KGU library and at the Writing class. Before watcing it, I had watched Trailer of it. It said this movie is adventure, romance, betrayer and comedy story. After hearing it, could nod in agreement. I felt that it has history of European culture, mainly the U.K. and will happen many accidents in this movie. I had read Shakespeare's book, but his works are many tragic plays. So, I surprised the end. My interesting scene is Benedick and Beatrice loves each other. It is a lot different from before relations, I think. I noted a thing on searching about this movie. In 1993, this movie first appeared. Then, Kenneth Branagh and Kate Beckinsale were husband and wife. I was surprised to hear that. Do you know it?
